What is a global school?

Young Eagles Global School is a leadership training program for young people. Together with partner organizations in other parts of the world, we carry out an exchange program with the goal of strengthening leadership both within our own organization and our partner organizations.

We create a project close to the members when we meet twice a year, once in Sweden and once in the partner country. We combine training with excursions and knowledge of the country we are in. The training is valuable for every individual who receives comprehensive leadership training. But it is also valuable for the organization participating in the project because the training creates the conditions for more and younger leaders.

The training extends over a period of two years and is divided into five training blocks:

  • Leadership and Equality - In this section, participants will learn about different types of leadership both in theory and practice. We discuss being a leader within different organizations and our own organization. Participants can discuss formal and informal leadership, gender differences and dominance methods, Maslow's hierarchical steps and reflect on their own personality in relation to leadership.
  • Children and Solidarity - We learn more about the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, the difference between solidarity and charity. We discuss cultural rights and the situation of children in different parts of the world.
  • Methods – As a leader, it is important to learn to work with projects and use different training methods. Participants learn how study circles work and about different educational methods. We try theater as a method.
  • Organization and Execution - Why should you work in an organization at all? How does our own organization work? What is the value of being a member of an organization? We discuss how organizations can change the world. We learn more about democracy and how to run a campaign.
  • Public health – This section is important both for participants in Sweden and in the partner country. It is about diet and health, but also about HIV/AIDS and sexual reproductive health.
